Here is the timeline/task list we have been working through for the last five weeks or so (not including visa stuff or documents for our agency…)
Step 2 was complete on Wednesday (2/19) and now we are waiting on Article 5.

The end is definitely in sight, though it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed with the number of details and things left to be figured out. We are praying for a Gotcha Day (as an English teacher I’ve just had to accept that this is the term…) in the last week of March so as to line up with the kids’ spring break.
We are so excited that we “filled our plane” and that we’ve received so much emotional and financial support this year. Additionally, we received one of the grants we applied for (giving us two total)–praise God! He is providing and we have been overwhelmed at the hearts He has touched. I posted this story on IG/FB earlier this week: on Monday I walked into class and one of my students brought me a bucket with Oliver’s name on it, and said, “It was my birthday over the weekend and at my party I collected money for him.” Along with the money were hand-written notes, most of them from my students, which I treasure. Getting to show my family–and especially the kids–was so special, and it’s not an exaggeration to say that I can see how this experience is already changing us. Also, next time someone moans to me about “kids these days,” I can’t wait to pull out this story.
Until next time!
